【明治政府による殖産興業の典型例】1872年に明治政府が設立した官営の器械製糸場。フランスから技術者と女工をまねき、士族の子女も女工として働いた。国内養蚕・製糸業を世界一の水準に牽引した。 Tomioka Silk Mill and Related Sites (Gunma Pref.) 【The Typical Example of the Meiji Government’s Promotion of Industry】The Tomioka silk mill was founded in 1872 as a government-run, mechanized silk mill. Engineers and female mill workers were invited to Japan from France, while the daughters of local samurai families also worked in the mill. The Tomioka mill brought domestic sericulture and the Japanese silk industry up to the highest standards in the world.

明治日本の産業革命遺産 製鉄・製鋼、造船、石炭産業(全8県)

「神宿る島」宗像・沖ノ島と関連遺産群(福岡県)

【約8万点が国宝指定】4~9世紀に航海の安全を祈る古代祭祀(さいし)が行われた九州北部のこの島では、指輪や鏡など大陸との交流を示す奉納品が出土。島全体が神体とされ、今も一般の立ち入りは制限されている。 Sacred Island of Okinoshima and Associated Sites in the Munakata Region (Fukuoka Pref.) 【Approximately 80,000 Items Designated as National Treasures】On this island in northern Kyushu, where ancient rituals praying for maritime safety were carried out from the fourth through ninth centuries, votive items such as rings and mirrors have been unearthed indicating exchange with the continent.
